Mechel’s Bratsk plant raises sales by 22% to 78,000 tns in 2021

MOSCOW, Jan 26 (PRIME) -- Bratsk Ferroalloy Plant, a subsidiary of Russian metals and mining group Mechel, raised sales by 22% on the year to 78,000 tonnes of products in 2021 thanks to a 2020 upgrade of the third ore thermal furnace that increased orders, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.

The sales of highly marginal ferrosilicon alloy with silicon content of 75% rose by 19% and with a 65% content by 29%.

The company sold its alloys both locally, primarily to Mechel, and exported it to Japan, Turkey, Mexico, Canada, the Netherlands, Latvia and the U.S.
